HARPER ADAMS: End Of Year

Since the academic year is over and the summer months are coming to an end, we've caught up with a some Harper Cymru students to find out what they've been doing over the last few months.

Elen Davies

Elen Davies a second-year student at Harper Adams studying agriculture with mechanisation, and runs a family business (Arwel Davies Contracting) back at home where she returns during the summer months to work full time. Over 4000 acres of silage are covered by the business every year.

After graduating from University, Elen plans to return home to contract full time with the family. Below is the Massey Ferguson 7722s and Claas Jaguar 880 that have served as her office over the summer.

Elen Davies ail flwyddyn Harper Adams sy’n astudio amaethyddiaeth gyda mecaneiddio, ac yn rhedeg busnes teuluol (Arwel Davies Contracting) yn ôl adref lle mae’n dychwelyd yn ystod misoedd yr haf i weithio’n llawn amser. Mae’r busnes yn gweud tua 4000 erw o silwair bob blwyddyn.

Ar ôl graddio o’r Brifysgol, mae Elen yn bwriadu dychwelyd adref i gontractio’n llawn amser gyda’r teulu. Isod mae’r Massey Ferguson 7722s a Claas Jaguar 880 sydd wedi gwasanaethu fel ei swyddfa dros yr haf.

Jac Williams & Sion Pyrs

Jac Williams and Sion Pyrs are both in their second year at Harper Adams, studying Agricultural Engineering. They are currently on their placement with CLAAS UK. Jac has been working with the product support side of the business, while Sion has been working on the parts side of the business. 

Mae Jac a Sion yn yr ail flwyddyn yn Harper Adams yn astudio Agricultural Engineering. Uchod mae llun o peiriannau sydd ar iard CLAAS UK ble mae’r ddau yn gweithio ar eu lleoliadau gwaith. Mae Jac yn gweithio ar yr ochr Cynorth i’r cynnyrch a mae Sion yn gweithio ar yr ochr Partiau’r busnes. 

Sion Davies

Sion Davies from Llandovery, Carmarthenshire is a first-year student at Harper Adams. He has gone from studying extended agriculture, to rural enterprise and land management.

Over the summer, Sion has been working at home with his family’s sheep, beef, and contracting enterprise. Here is his Claas 650 hauling silage, which he has spent most of the summer in. 

Mae Sion Davies o Lanymddyfri, Sir Gaerfyrddin, myfyriwr blwyddyn gyntaf yn Harper Adams, wedi mynd o astudio amaethyddiaeth estynedig i fenter wledig a rheoli tir. Dros yr haf mae Sion wedi bod yn gweithio gartref ar fenter cig eidion ei deulu, å chontractio. Dyma ei Claas 650 yn cludo silwair y mae wedi treulio’r rhan fwyaf o’r haf ynddo.

Mali Davies

Mali Davies is in her second year studying Rural Enterprise and Land Management and has recently started her third-year placement up in Scotland.

Over the summer, Mali has been busy working on the family run beef and sheep farm, along with direct drilling for herself and others. In the picture is her John Deere 6190 with an Aitchison Grassfarmer Direct Drill.

Mae Mali Davies, myfyrwraig ar ei hail flwyddyn sy’n astudio Menter Wledig a Rheolaeth Tir, wedi dechrau ei lleoliad trydedd flwyddyn yn yr Alban yn ddiweddar. Dros yr haf mae Mali wedi bod yn brysur ar y fferm bîff a defaid deuluol ac yn drilio’n uniongyrchol iddi hi ei hun ac i eraill. Yn y llun mae John Deere 6190 gyda Dril Uniongyrchol Ffermwr Glas Aitchison.

Osian Iorwerth

Osian Iorwerth is a Harper Adams student studying Agriculture with Mechanisation, and is currently on his placement year working with Kubota UK. In the picture is two M7173 on an open day at Kubota and Kverneland.
